Some origins of Harvey's box

I found out that the developers of Cube escape games have got inspiration from many of René Magritte's paintings, like from "The presence of time" and "The collective invention".

Murder scene location?

I think it is possible that the murder location is in America, because outside the house are police cars that look like Chevy Bel Air Police Cars, which were used in Texas (I don't live in America so I'm not sure :I ). So does Dale Vandermeer live in America?

Bye Y'all

So... this is Jand, and I've been banned from the wiki because of some pretty nonsensicle things I have said. To be fair, I have been banned for a very legitemite reason. My account will remain inactive until the ban is lifted, which will probably never happen.

I'm saying goodbye to all you folks that made this wiki such a great place.

I'll probably be that one guy from here that barely anybody will remember. So, I guess it's ok to go on with your day once you read this.

--To Dragonlover, thanks for making edits to make this wiki for all the grammar and spelling, and all the new item pages.

--To PirateJet, thanks for doing a whole lot of heavy lifting.

Welp. Looks like I'm gone for now.

See you once I'm back... maybe in a month. Maybe in a year.…

Defeated Corrupted Souls

In The Lake, the soul is warded back into the lake, but not defeated.

In Arles, the corrupted soul, which may be Vincent Van Gogh, is defeated, possibly showing RL's version of Gogh's suicide.

In Harvey's box, it is unsure if Mrs. Pigeon's soul is warded off or defeated.

In Case 23, Mr. Deer's soul is escaped from, yet not killed or warded off.

In The Mill, The Woman's soul leaves back into the lake, seeing that it is the same year you are simply seeing the Woman's Corrupted soul that left.

In RLHotel, All the Corrupted Souls are formed from the dead hotel guests.

In Birthday, Mr. Rabbit is seen to be defeated.

In Theatre, Dale escapes from Bob's Soul, yet not killed or warded off.

In RLRoots, William dies, corrupts, and is reborn.

In The Cave, Da…

E-mails to fandom

So, I recently e-mailed Fandom about our... 'situation'. I told them to expect another e-mail in a week if the poll allows for it. I told them all about how it used to be just a 'Cube Escape Series', but now it is much more.

@XtinaS, http://community.wikia.com/wiki/Special:Contact/wiki-name-change will help you.

What's happening to Dale?

In The Cave, we saw Mr. Crow give Dale Vandermeer a golden cube, which, from what we've seen, is connected to the future and the full Elixir. I guess the stuff made by James in Roots and by Mr. Crow in The Cave was a partial extract, not as potent as the full thing (which explains why James died but didn't become a Corrupted Soul, and why the Dog stayed a dog and just became immortal).

Anyway, something is definitely happening to Dale. From what I've seen, I think that maybe he's ascending to a higher existence. In Theatre, Mr. Owl said in that game that his mind is reaching a higher state of consciousness. Also, the sixth play is associated with the god realm, which is referred to by this picture. If you look closely at the right side of this pi…

The Room in Seasons and The White-Grey Cube down Rusty Lake

Well, I suppose everyone must have noticed this by now :)

The Room we have in Cube Escape: Seasons, particularly in Winter 1981, bears much resemblance to this so-called white chamber at the bottom of Rusty Lake in Cube Escape: The Cave here...

Any thoughts? :)

(It's gonna be interesting ^^)

Questions

As the developers said in their introduction, each game both answers and raises questions, and The Cave does exactly that. I put some of the more prominent questions together here to help me organize:

Questions Answered

Q: Who was the masked man from Theatre?
A: That was Mr. Owl's human form.

Q: What is the Woman's name?
A: Laura Vanderboom.

Q: Is she the reincarnation of William?
A: Yes.

Q: Is she Rose's daughter?
A: Yes.

Q: How exactly did she die?
A: It was suicide. She cut her own throat with the Knife.

New Questions Raised

Q: What's the purpose of a golden cube?

Q: If Mr. Crow and Mr. Owl are already immortal, how come they still need the Elixir?

Q: How are they able to switch between their animal and human forms?

Q: Why, and when, did the Woman leave R…

Cube Escape: The Cave Secret Prize

  • 1 Collecting the secret prize in Cube Escape: The Cave can be done at any time as long as you have already entered the submarine and have yet to be "ambushed" by The Fantastic Five, a.k.a the Rusty Lake Hotel guests :))
  • 2 The key to find clues is all buildings seen on the map, and their coordinations... You can travel there in any order... and also on your own (As I can never know where you are :D)
  • 3 Rusty Lake Hotel
  • 4 The Chapel
  • 5 The Cabin
  • 6 What now???
  • 7 Now It's the part you admire how clever you are :D
  • 8 Note

  • Travel to the coordinations of Rusty Lake Hotel (location) on the map (X: 6;Y: 3; Depth: 00).
  • Get to the periscope. Focus.
  • Try to remember or write the coordinations down :v
  • Get there.
  • Move to the wall with the window by the stove(is it?)
  • Focus on t…

Flower Breeding Combinations

In Roots, there's the chapter "Fertility", in which you have to create four different types of hybrid flowers. I did a bit of extra searching, and found that there are in fact, 7 possible hybrids that can be created by pollinating the white pot 3 times (and 3 hybrids for pollinating it 2 times). Here's a diagram I created:

And here are pictures of the 3 other hybrids:

Please tell me if I missed anything. Thanks!

Meaningful Names

Hey, did anyone notice how meaningful some of the Vanderbooms' names are? I looked up their meanings and made some interesting discoveries.

Here are a few examples of meaningful names:

  • James: Means "supplanter" or "replacement". He takes over the family house after William's death and Aldous's transformation, and eventually follows in their footsteps as an alchemist.
  • Leonard: Means "like a lion" or "lion-bold". He goes off to fight in WWI, and returns alive, albeit missing a leg from the knee-down and traumatized.
  • Rose: Means "rose". However, there is the French name Roselin (which, strangely, is male), which means "red-haired". She has inherited her mother's hair.

Other names, however, are downright ironic:

  • Emma: Means "whole" or "complete". She …

Minor observations

So, in Cube Escape: Theatre, we go into Bob's brain and pull out white cubes, extracting his memories in the process. One of the memories is of a tree where, after wiping away window fog or something, you find a heart shaped carving containing the letter V. This has one use in the game as representing the number 5, but I suspect it has another meaning as well. White cubes are good memories, and if he's having good memories of it, I'm guessing that what he's actually remembering is carving the letter V into the tree, like couples might do. So I'm guessing that the Young Woman's real name actually begins with a V.

Additionals, since white cubes are good memories, his white cube memories are the tree where he carved his girlfriend's initia…

Happy Birthday Rusty Lake

Today, on 25th April in 2015, Rusty Lake launched their first game Cube Escape: The Lake. One year later, they have developed 8 free games and a premium game. They manage to catch the eye of many fans because of the style and mysterious storyline of their games. I am positive they will continue this amazing series and attract even more people in the future.

Apparently this wiki has not gone unnoticed by the developers as expressed in a post on the Rusty Lake Blog. Let us keep building it with quality content so this could become the fan base for Rusty Lake and Cube Escape.

Happy 1 year anniversary Rusty Lake!

Notes: Feel free to leave a message. A while back i edited this (second pic below), it is not my call to use it, i'll just put it here.

Possible timeline revision

The Cube Escape games do not take place in chronological order, with some involving travel to previous years within their own direct timeline. This page contains an approximate timeline for known events in the series, including the premium games Rusty Lake Hotel and Rusty Lake: Roots. Please note that this timeline contains some speculation and is subject to change as new games are released.

Spoilers for all games are unmarked. If you wish to remain unspoiled, do not read further if you have not played every game in the series.
